Home Inspection Portland Metro.jpg

Home Inspections

A thorough home inspection can save you thousands of dollars in unexpected repairs. Comprehensive home inspections take a few hours as every element of the physical structure is carefully examined. Major appliances, heating and air-conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems are assessed and all results of the inspection, including recommendations for repair or replacement, are documented in the inspection report.

Sewer Scopes

Inspecting your sewer line is recommended regardless of the age of your home. A sewer line can be cracked, crushed, or infiltrated with tree roots; repairing sewer lines can be costly. We run a scope, which is a camera on the end of a hose, from the home to the sewer main at the street. Reports are available within 24 hours.

Home Energy Audit

As of January 1st 2018, sellers of single-family homes in Portland, Oregon are required to obtain and disclose a Home Energy Report estimating the energy-related use, associated costs, and cost-effective solutions to improve the home’s efficiency.

Radon Testing

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that you can’t see, smell, or taste. Because it is a gas, it can seep up through the soil and enter buildings. Inhaling radon gas causes damage to lung tissue and can lead to lung cancer after a prolonged period of time.

The Oregon Public Health Division recommends that all homes test for radon regardless of the risk level assigned to the home’s geographic location.

How We Test

We employ the AIRTHINGS Corenthium Pro to sample indoor air for 48 hours. The device’s advanced technology allows for incredibly accurate results, and your report is available as soon as the test is completed.

Radon mitigation

Radon mitigation is designed to reduce radon concentrations in the indoor air of a building. Oregon.gov recommends you hire a contractor who is certified as proficient in radon mitigation to fix radon problems.
